The Purpose of This Blog
My sister and I are hoping this blog will be a place to give God the glory by sharing what He has done. A ministry of testimony. It will also be a place to share our lives with those who are interested.
We believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. It was by His death on the cross that our sins were paid and by His resurrection that we have eternal life in heaven with Him.
John 3:16 says,
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
We are two sisters born and raised in Texas We grew up in a home surrounded by people in love and in relationship with Jesus. We have amazing parents who still are in love with each other after forty years of marriage.
My sister and I are both homemakers and stay-at-home moms. This means we are personal menu planners, cooks, maids, organizers, delegators, counselors, managers, disciplinarians, encouragers, motivators, snugglers, disciplers, teachers, Jesus freaks, party planners, shoppers, decorators, painters, designers, best friend havers, and lovers of our husbands and children and family. (And all the mom’s say, “Amen”)
Does all of that sound exhausting? It is wonderfully exhausting. How do we do it? One day at a time by God’s amazing grace and perfect timing. Lots of prayer. Lots of messing up and starting again.
When we were praying about this blog the Lord shared a few verses with us.
The first was Matthew 5:13-16. Verse 16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
We will try our best to be a light in this dark and crazy world.
The second verse was 1 Chronicles 16:12a, 23-25a which says,”Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad. Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually. Remember His marvelous deeds which He has done….Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.”
We hope to do just that. We will share what God has done in our lives. The big things and in the day to day small things.
The third verse was Jeremiah 17:8, “They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
We are sisters “Deeply Rooted” in the Lord and in our families. We have both had our shares of heat and seasons of drought, but we were not afraid because we knew the Lord would come through. We trusted His plan. We started this blog in order to share how we’ve learned to be trees firmly planted by the water, always green, and never worried. We aren’t perfect and we don’t know everything, but we do understand the importance of a daily relationship with God and how, in doing that, you can be that deeply rooted tree.

Lacey EslerAnyone who has ever met me would probably tell you that I laugh at everything. It’s true! I’m ridiculously easily amused. Laughing is the best thing ever! If you don’t do it very often, then start now. It’s half of my daily workout. You won’t be disappointed, if you give it a whirl.
I’m married to my best friend, hardworking provider, and cozy blanket, John. He makes me laugh more than anyone. We have three children. Our son, Ethan, is our angel in Heaven. Our first daughter, Dani, is a passionate performer and manager of all living things. Adelin, our youngest daughter, is a spitfire of up and down emotional sweetness and sass. I’m privileged to be a stay at home mom. I love to cook, decorate, entertain, shop, and lastly, with no shame, I love TV. I tried to be a reader but it didn’t take. My closest friends have given up on me becoming one and love me anyway. Finally, I love the Lord with all of my might! I make a daily decision to trust Him and He never forsakes me. |
